Pissed off by all the B.S. about mental illness that has infected the Internet in the days following Robin Williams’ suicide, I wrote a column about it for the paper that employs me. I’m posting about it here and encourage you to read it, because this is important. Here’s the link.
Take care, friends.

Well put and I’m glad the word is getting out there. Some of the articles and blog posts that I have read just baffle me. I just want to scream, no, really — depression is a disease, there is such a thing as mental illness, and so on and so forth. Gah!

It’s baffling that in 2014 so many still don’t understand this!

Great column I totally agree! All we can ever know is what goes on in our own mind and body and we should not pretend we know someone else’s!

Good column. I feel sorry for his family and friends — so tough for them right now.

Mental illness, and its consequences, are definitely hard on those who love someone affected by it as well. Thanks for reading, and take care.

I’m glad so many people called him out on this. My biggest issue (among many) with Matt Walsh is that he believes he has the authority to pontificate on so many topics that affect real people, when he simply does not. Nobody does. What’s worse is that he’s gained an almost cult-like following of people who agree that he does. Ugh.
